By The People: The Election of Barack Obama

I love documentaries. I can watch a documentary on almost anything from snakes to the KKK to the pyramids. Its one of the reasons I roll my eyes when some of you start talking about boycotting cable. And give up the History channel, National Geographic, Discovery channel and Military channel? Puh-lease. Anywho, November 3rd at 9 p.m. I will be watching By the People: The Election of Barack Obama on HBO.

I love documentaries too. I watch at least two or three a week. I'm interesting in viewing this one for sure. I'm curious to see what we didn't see behind the scenes. I just hope that it is a decent film.

why are people talking about boycotting cable? I'm so outta the loop, lol. But cannot see it mainly due to the fact network TV has so little to offer. Yet perhaps the push is to get folks back to reading books?

Man Im still pissed they took the History channel off basic cable. The people talking about boycotting cable are full of crap.

@msladydeborah I'm hoping it gives things we've never seen before as well.

@3rdstonefromthesun - The boycotting of cable is generally the loudest during anti-BET rants and criticism of the portrayal of black people, specifically black women. The point being that you're supporting the networks even though you don't watch them by having cable.

@clnmike - I don't find a cable boycott to be an effective way to change anything. And no history channel on basic cable? Damn what next? PBS. Damn shame.

I thought I was the only one that watched documentaries on almost anything! LOL

I don't have HBO, so I'll miss this one, unless it's released on DVD. One of my favorite documentaries is "The War" that came on PBS. It was really good. I've also seen documentaries on the histories of various cities; those were all interesting too.
